A Forgotten, but Familiar Tune

Posted on July 17, 2013October 14, 2022 by KZ

There is a line in that old Outkast song, “Rosa Parks“, that has long been echoing in my mind since 1998. Said baby boy you only funky as your last cut You focus on the past your ass’ll be a has what Damn straight, André. Every time I take a break from blogging, the moments…

30 Minus 2 Days of Writing

Day 28: “Is That All?”
________________________________________
Here we are on the final day of the month-long writing challenge for February 2013, “30 Minus 2 Days of Writing”. Frankly, this whole challenge was a massive pain in the ass. I have to admit, though, I loved nearly every minute of it.

Once I’ve Finished

Posted on November 18, 2010October 11, 2022 by KZ

Have you ever had one of those dry spells as a blogger where you lose your creative will for half a month because you’re coming home exhausted from work every night, too tired and depressed to write anything worthwhile? Yeah, me neither. On a completely unrelated note, I haven’t written anything new over the past…

Lessons Learned from a Broken Blog

Posted on October 20, 2010October 14, 2022 by KZ

I broke my blog late last week while attempting to enhance the layout template. At the lowest point, my homepage was taking twelve agonizing seconds to load, and the comment box would send you to a blank error page when you clicked the submit button. The worst of it, though, came when I rushed through…

Comments are Broken, and WordPress Sucks

Posted on October 15, 2010October 11, 2022 by KZ

WordPress 3.0 is giving me all kinds of trouble with the comments. Whenever I attempt to post a reply through the comment form, I’m taken to a blank error page. Not good. I may not be able to fix the problem before heading to sleep Thursday night, so I’ll probably have to leave the blog…

Disappointing Visitors from Around the Globe

Posted on April 6, 2009October 11, 2022 by KZ

This just broke my heart. I checked my blog’s visitor statistics from over the weekend and took note of visitor number 1001. Somebody in Saudi Arabia found my blog through a Google search for “arab booty and big dicks”. Piqued by curiosity, I clicked around and followed the referring URL. Visitor 1001 found my blog…

Retroactive Self-Loathing

Posted on February 24, 2009October 11, 2022 by KZ

Sorry for the silence, friends. I haven’t been in the proper state of mind lately to post something worth reading up here. After this kind of dry spell lasts for more than two weeks, I start to get nervous. I feel like a desperate rent-a-clown at a children’s party scrambling to put on a show…

Same Show, Different Stage

Posted on September 20, 2008October 10, 2022 by KZ

Yeah, it’s been over a year since my last post.  Yes, this is my first official post on the new incarnation of my blog.  Check the new digs, man.  I’ve finally got the dot-com credibility to back up my feeble words.  So where have I been for the past year and two months?  I’ve been…

All But Forgotten

Posted on March 31, 2006April 25, 2022 by KZ

After embarking on a four-month odyssey that began in the suburbs of Akron, Ohio, and which ended atop the highest peaks of the Nepali Himalayas, I can confirm that Diet Dr. Pepper does, in fact, taste more like Dr. Pepper than regular Dr. Pepper. How they pulled this off, the constituents of our generation may…

This Blogger’s Gone Living

Posted on October 11, 2005April 25, 2022 by KZ

Lack of creation does not necessarily indicate a lack of inspiration. Silence sucks, I know. But don’t you think for a second that KZ went and fell off. Please continue to believe, however, that KZ is a total asshole for not taking the time to read the meticulous updates on all of your respective blogs,…

Bill Door nodded. Of course there had been a mistake. Anyone could see there had been a mistake. He tossed the overalls in a corner and took up the robe of absolute blackness. Well, it had been an experience. And, he had to admit, one that he didn't want to relive. He felt as though a huge weight had been removed. Was that what it was like to be alive? The feeling of darkness dragging you forward? How could they live with it? And yet they did, and even seemed to find enjoyment in it, when surely the only sensible course would be to despair. Amazing. To feel you were a tiny living thing, sandwiched between two cliffs of darkness. How could they stand to be alive?~Terry PratchettSource: Reaper Man
